Recycling Notice: January 5, 2026

The City of Lexington will cease curbside recycling pick up at the end of January 2026. You will still have the opportunity to participate in recycling however, the only items that will be accepted will be cardboard, aluminum, and tin cans (ex- soup can).
These items will be accepted at two drop-off locations in the city.

  1. Public Works office – 280 John Threadgill Dr. Lexington, TN (Soccer Complex off of Natchez Trace Dr.
  2. City of Lexington Transfer Station- 240 North Industrial Dr. Lexington, TN (Just past Arrow Paving on the right off of North Broad St.)

The city’s recycling truck will continue to empty your blue recycling cans through January 23, 2026. The week of January 26th- January 30th   ALL blue cans will need to be pulled to the road on your normally scheduled trash day and as they are emptied, they will be collected by the Public Works Department.

City of Lexington Monthly Meetings

  • BOARD OF MAYOR AND ALDERMEN – All Board of Mayor and Aldermen meetings will be held on the second Monday and fourth Monday of each month. Utility business will take place on the second Monday meeting. All board meetings will take place at the Lexington Utilities Operations Facility located at 180 Maple Street, Lexington, TN at 6:00 PM.
 
  •  PLANNING COMMISSSION - meets on the second Monday of each   month at 5:30 p.m.  All Planning Commission meetings will take place at the Lexington Utilities Operations Facility located at 180 Maple Street, Lexington, TN.

If a member of the public wishes to speak at the meeting, he or she must identify themselves by name and address during the public comment portion of the meeting.
