Independence Day Holiday Closings Schedule Changes

City Hall and all Utility Offices will be closed in observance of Independence Day on Thursday, July 2nd, and Friday July 3rd, 2026 Garbage pickup routes will not run on Friday, July 3rd. Friday route will be picked up on Thursday July 2nd. Transfer Station will be closed on Friday, the 3rd and Saturday, the 4th.

Notice of Public Hearing 2026-2027

The Mayor and Board of Aldermen for the City of Lexington will hold a public hearing on Monday the 13th day of July 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the Meeting Room at the Lexington Utilities Operations Facility, 180 Maple Street, for the second reading on the proposed 2026/2027 budget ordinance. All citizens are welcome to participate. The City of Lexington does hereby provide the following financial information in accordance with the requirements of Tennessee Code Annotated Title 6, Chapter 56, Section 206. The 2026/2027 proposed General Fund Budget using the current City Property Tax Rate of $1.1929 per $100 of assessed value as estimate while the city awaits state assessed Certified Tax Rate. JULY 1, 2026 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2027
 

Board of Mayor Aldermen Meetings

  • All Board of Mayor and Aldermen meetings will be held on the second Monday and fourth Monday of each month. Utility business will take place on the second Monday meeting. All board meetings will take place at the Lexington Utilities Operations Facility located at 180 Maple Street, Lexington, TN at 6:00 PM.
 


Planning Commission Meetings

  • The Planning Commission meets on the second Monday of each   month at 5:30 p.m.  All Planning Commission meetings will take place at the Lexington Utilities Operations Facility located at 180 Maple Street, Lexington, TN.

If a member of the public wishes to speak at the meeting, he or she must identify themselves by name and address during the public comment portion of the meeting.
